Southern Dunes:
Southern Dunes has a great reputation, rated 4th best course built in the whole of the USA in the last 10 years by Links magazine and 51st best new course built in the last 35 years by Golf Weekly. Steve Smyers designed the course that features 180 bunkers and dramatic rolling fairways. The greens are undulating and true with elevation changes giving character to this extremely challenging course. From the back tees the course yardage is 7227 with a par of 72.

Golf In General:
If you are a very keen golfer then this is the perfect place for your holiday. With the all year round warm, sunny climate, Orlando has become one of the world's best golfing destinations. For this reason Orlando is home to some of the world's leading golfers including 30 PGA Tour players such as Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo, Corey Pavin and Ernie Els. Add golfing legends Arnold Palmer and Gary Player and about a dozen LPGA Tour regulars and you will see that Orlando has a talented group of residents. Golf in Florida is all about luxurious courses, golf carts, drinks carts and all the amenities that make the perfect golfing holiday.
There are 350 within an hour of the villa. Having played most of them myself, I can recommend the following:
SOUTHERN DUNES: Because you are staying there!

PROVIDENCE: Only about 15 minutes away and has a stunning back 9 both in terms of scenery and hole layout. A must!

FALCONS FIRE: On the 192 and has lush fairways, some lovely lakes, but is expensive.

ORANGE NATIONAL: Has two courses and Panther Lake is well worth playing. A challenge for any golfer and the scenery is breathtaking.
MYSTIC DUNES: This course is on the way to the 192 and, although it has quite a few houses on the course, every hole is very individual and is a great test of golf from the back tees. Good luck!

TIMAQUAN LAKES: This is quite a long drive, taking about 1 hour 10 minutes, but is an exceptionally nice course, particularly the back 9.

DEER ISLAND: This is a difficult course to find, but the whole course is on an island within a huge lake and the wildlife makes it very interesting. There is a lot of water involved on the course as you might imagine, a truly unique experience.
